How it works

The generator starts with a core set of routine upkeep tasks, then adds or removes items based on the selected home type, climate, outdoor space, HVAC coverage, basement presence, pets, and household size.

Occupant count affects reminders that tend to scale with daily use, such as drain cleaning, filter checks, and high-touch maintenance. Climate adds weather-sensitive tasks like winter shutoff prep, dehumidifier monitoring, or exterior seal checks.

Rounding behavior is simple: counts stay as whole numbers, and the checklist text is ordered by frequency instead of scoring or ranking. If a task could appear twice from different rules, it is included only once.
